At first, I thought that having a secure voice mail was only for the popular people such as the politicians and celebrities. After all, you rarely hear news about regular Joes having their phones tapped. However, a recent brush with this problem made me realize the importance of voicemail security.

Apparently someone took advantage of my accounting firm’s lack of voicemail security and browsed through the people who called her which included me. The hacker then took advantage of it by getting my number which I had left in their voicemail account. That hacker then pretended to be my accountant and nearly got me to reveal my banking information to them. Fortunately, I got wise to the plan and just reported the call to the firm.

I now realized that even private individuals could become indirectly affected by a lack of a secure voicemail. That is why I am now looking for a service that would be able to provide me with one.
